Position Purpose & Summary

Lead and provide direction to the existing team, oversee the day-to-day shipment execution activities across multiple dispatching locations. These activities include data management, reporting & analysis, shipment execution, client interaction, business partnership, and people, resource, budget & project management.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Leadership – Accountable for people management responsibilities including but not limited to daily supervision, performance management, coaching, talent development and succession planning. Lead the team through changes and be a role model. Create and maintain effective, highly engaged and motivated teams. Responsible for the hiring of new team members.

20% Performance – Monitor daily performance of the team, reward performers and address any gaps. Ensure performance is visible to the team and weekly commitments (4DX adherence). Communicate team’s performance to higher management and stakeholder on a monthly basis. Frequently review metrics in place and benchmark against best in class. Ensure proper follow-ups of any outstanding item. Have frequent one on one review with each team member. Responsible to assign workload to each team member and approve team schedules and over-time to meet agreed SLAs.

20% Decision making and problem solving – Provide support and assistance to team members in the resolutions of issues. Constant troubleshooting of daily problems related with day to day operations. Being the first level of escalation for situations arising from clients and vendors. Continuously drive process improvement initiatives based on determined root cause analysis.

20% Communication – Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with clients, vendors, direct reports and colleagues. Communicate proactively. Provide market insights to various internal teams (Business Units, Sourcing, Documentation, etc.) to help decision making. Share success stories and lessons learned.

10% training policies and procedures - Ensure all employees have the needed business and system knowledge to be able to perform their tasks. Guarantee the adherence of the team members to all internal policies and compliance to industry standards. Responsible for the maintenance of all documentation related with the department (SOPs, manuals, SLA document, BCP, etc.) and appropriate communication to the team member and stakeholders. Drive cross training initiatives.


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or higher education level.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in transportation and logistics role.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team.

  • Written and verbal fluency in English (B2 level).

  • Broad and accurate knowledge of logistics processes and very good understanding of supply chain processes.

  • Thorough knowledge of export procedures and documentation.

  • Broad knowledge of product ranges and customer applications.

  • Ability to lead and/or coach people.

  • Ability to set priorities and organize work.

  • Open to change and continuous improvement focused oriented mindset.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse teams from all around the world.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in transport, logistics or supply chain management.

  • Experience in freight forwarding.

  • Experience in work migration and project management .

  • Knowledge of AS 400, GT Nexus and Remedy Force. SAP TM required.

  • Written and verbal fluency in other languages.

  • Understanding of insurance and claims.

  • Certification in handling hazardous materials.

  • Lean / six sigma certification.
