As a Product Manager for the Operations product portfolio, you will be responsible for delivering our Operations products to the market that delight our customers. This role will be responsible for developing product strategies and roadmaps for our Operations portfolio that deliver value to our customers and profitability to our business. This role will be accountable for working with a team of product owners as a player/coach, our development teams and product line teams to ensure the successful delivery and ongoing improvements of our Operations products. This role will require being the “voice of the customer” to the organization and therefore requires a strong link with both existing customers and new prospects as well as playing an active role in product delivery.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Develop Product Strategy

Develop a product strategy for the Operations product space and how it connects to Format Solutions other product lines that meets theneeds of our targeted customer segments

Develop and improve the Operations product line that meets the market need and delights our customer base

Define, articulate, and present a product vision and work with the technology organization to develop the product

Works with Product Line teams to develop a product strategy and roadmap for the Operations portfolio

30% Develop and Maintain Product Roadmap

Develop a product roadmap in collaboration with our product line and technology teams that meet the overall product strategy, go-to-market strategy and beat our competition

Continue to groom the roadmap based on customer feedback, customer usage, market need and competitive positioning

Instititue an agile in our road mapping process and demonstrate the ability to influence others on the changes needed as well as keep stakeholders informed

20% Develop People

Provides direction and coaching/professional development to team members

Manages teams (workload, projects, coaching, performance management and work approval)

Accountable for team’s productivity

20% Develop and Maintain Market View

Generates and reviews both qualitative and quantititave customer insights on both what our customers need but also how they are using our products

Work directly with customers to apply the Operations portfolio to the market need and ensure customer feedback is part of the product strategy

Ensure marketing team is positioning the product in the market effectively and based on product features, strategy and roadmap

Analyzes competitor positioning and where our products fit with our customers and identifies competitive features for our products



  • Bachelor’s degree (animal or computer sciences or business management) or 5 or more years of related work experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering software products in web, mobile, IoT or analytics technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, create a vision and execute on that vision

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams both directly and indirectly

  • Demonstrated knowledge of agile development processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build trust and strong relationships

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage several projects and/or priorities concurrently

  • Ability to travel globally (up to 10%)


  • Experience as a product manager delivering commercial products in a fast moving, innovative environment

  • Experience in the agriculture industry

  • Master’s degree in business or related field

  • Experience participating in the marketing and sales process
