Supply Planning Manager

Leads and provides direction to supervisors and indirect staff and oversees all day-to-day supply chain planning activities across multi-site operation that spans across multiple product lines. Leads, advises and makes decisions on all major supply chain planning activities for a medium-size team with a medium-long term outlook and high impact on working capital. These activities include: supply chain planning operations, plant warehousing and logistics operations, process development, planning & execution, customer & client interaction / business partnership, systems / data management & reporting, and people, talent & budget management.
SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING OPERATIONS
Manages and contributes to definition of improvement projects and commitments requiring an extensive understanding of supply chain planning practices and procedures.
Using specialized knowledge and extensive experience, provides guidance and feedback to help team identify areas of improvement and cost management deficiencies in order to create efficient supply chain planning techniques and tools/systems.
Monitors channel capacity and partners with managers/supervisors to develop plan in case of gaps in order to minimize cost to serve and impact to customers. Communicates with key stakeholders in the process.
Maintains relationships with plant operations to ensure adequate inventory is available, and customer requirements are within operational capabilities.
Evaluates internal/external benchmark reports and activities across multiple product lines, and develops an organizational roadmap to accommodate it.
Using an extensive understanding of supply chain practices and procedures, develops and reinforces processes, and ensures best practices are shared. Examples include best practice identification within the BU, across BU’s and externally, documentation in playbook and story boards, creation of process workflow diagrams and RASCI schemes, and communicating best practices through trainings, workshops and documentation
Manages Coordination of synergies of techniques, methodologies and ensures know-how sharing between multiple sites
Leads and manages execution of centrally owned operational business processes, such as IBP (Integrated Business Planning) Supply Review cycles, KPI reporting (key performance indicators) and dashboard reporting.
SUPPLY CHAIN PLANT OPERATIONS
Oversees, provides general leadership in plant logistics operations at multiple sites (i.e. inbound goods receipt, outbound goods dispatch, warehousing and storage of raw materials and finished goods, weighbridge operations).
Monitors the team performance and efficiency on the ground
Cooperates with Plant management on workflow design and improvement, guides the team on debottlenecking
Sponsors the physical conditions and quality improvements of the plant warehouses, loading and unloading facilities and weighbridges.
Works with logistics development on improving the goods flow in and out of the factories
PROCESS DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING & EXECUTION
Provides direction to a multi-site team on capacity of inventory in relation to demand of customer orders for multiple product lines with medium-long term outlook. Collaborates with team to determine how and when to modify the original forecast and plan.
Leads and contributes to construct demand allocation planning for a medium-long term outlook.
Reviews and approves stock levels and monitors inventory health for a medium-size team and facilitates management of shelf life of products to team members.
Uses deep knowledge of supply chain planning practices and procedures to develop and implement medium-long term sales and operations plans and other supply chain strategies.
Applies an extensive understanding of supply chain practices and procedures to develop and implement the medium-long term IBP demand/capacity outlook based on Demand Plans. Approves this demand/capacity plan for a medium-size team, and communicates with the sales organization, plant operations, and/or the supply chain leadership team.
CUSTOMER & CLIENT INTERACTION / BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP
Provides guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, plant operations, and procurement) on the impacts of their supply chain plan. This includes all aspects regarding costs, impact on capacity, logistics, and order release.
Collaborates with peers in other BUs and/or externally (i.e. customers).
Sponsors and manages the development of innovative supply chain solutions through applying a specialized understanding of supply chain practices and procedures partnering with Supply Chain Excellence lead.
Manages and leads a medium-size team of supply chain planners in the analysis, evaluation, tracking and creation of reports for service level agreements for customers.
Provides management oversight to medium-size team for ensuring customer expectations are met from production through order fulfillment.
Facilitates and contributes to cross-functional product line teams in follow-up, investigation, and documentation of internal and external non-conformances, root causes and corrective actions.
SYSTEMS / DATA MANAGEMENT, REPORTING & ANALYSIS
Provides oversight and direction in deciding which tools/systems are appropriate to use for specific supply chain environments.
Ensures relationships related to tools/systems are kept intact (e.g. accurate capacity planning, as well as other databases within the business related to shipments and inventory management items.) Provides guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, plant operations, and procurement
Evaluates and assesses complex supply chain data, and optimization/scenario management models to help analyze forecasts for medium-long term outlook.
Provides direction to team on the management of supply chain systems and tools used within their area.
Utilizes demand, production and sales reports created by more junior members of the team to assess production efficiencies and costs.
Reviews and publishes KPIs (key performance indicators) and implements actions to improve best practices across a medium-size team.
PEOPLE, TALENT & BUDGET MANAGEMENT
Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement directly and through subordinate supervisors
Manages and provides coaching and/or training to team, including coaching Cargill core values, personal safety, environmental stewardship, community involvement and development of specific competencies/skills.
Provides oversight to subordinate supervisors in the selection of staff and other employees; determines resource need, plans for future workforce needs, and approves selection decisions.
Responsible for budgeting duties within area of scope (forecasting, reporting P&L, etc.).
Responsible to monitor the headcount budget for direct and indirect labor of the team.
10 Years’ experience in Operations or Supply Chain
