Position Purpose :

As a member of the HR Solutions ER/IR Market India team, this position will be accountable for the execution and delivery of employee and industrial relations (ER/IR) services within Kandla.

The HR Solutions ER/IR Market Specialist will serve as a member of the HR Solutions ER/IR specialist’s team responsible for delivering HR ER/IR services to the business. Acting under general supervision, the incumbent will utilize their general HR ER/IR knowledge to administer complex processes related to the delivery of HR ER/IR services within Kandla.

Principal Accountabilities :

Business Leader: 40%

  • Serve as a specialist within the HR ER/IR market HR Solution team to provide relevant and effective consulting services to businesses for Labour Law Statutory Compliances, Employee Disciplinary Process, Performance Improvement Plans, Terminations & resignations, employee onboarding, training needs identification, contract labour management, vendor management

  • Use general HR ER/IR knowledge to perform HR ER/IR projects – in domain area projects consult with ER/IR Country Lead & Stakeholders; execute the project as per agreed timelines keeping in consideration of business deliverable and industrial environment

  • Execute the co-ordinated deployment of HR ER/IR services, including any specific strategy requirements – work closely with business stakeholders, union committee & external agencies for strategic deliverables viz. long term settlements, manpower budgeting, dealing with low performers, terminations, employment contracts interpretations & any other deliverables assigned time to time

  • Leverage and enforce processes and technologies to support delivery of services – in depth understanding of service delivery model, be a champion of processes and lead the site specific amendments if any

  • Work in close partnership with shared services (CBS) to deliver recurring end-to-end services and processes – review service delivery model, queries management, either side feedback mechanism, provide feedback in case needs improvement, make necessary changes in processes for frequently asked queries

  • Develop and maintain key internal/external relationships, which may include: business leaders, hiring managers, business/function human resource professionals, Union Leadership Internal & External, employees & industry contacts – as professional in the area networking & engaging the right stakeholders; may vary from situation to situation and task to task. Leverage the strength of an organization.

  • Leading the contractor’s management, contract labour management, and statutory compliances. Deliver business solutions and advice business on contract management and provide processes and tools.

  • Under general supervision, provide consult to HR and business managers and supervisors within regarding the interpretation and delivery of complex HR ER/IR policies, programs and processes. – be part of the business meetings, provide solutions in ER/IR policies, programs, & processes. Consult with Country ER/IR Lead and provide solutions for complex ER/IR policies and programs.

  • Using general HR ER/IR knowledge, and client intelligence, provide thought leadership in recommending solutions that build on business and functional strategic drivers in the market domain – Kandla

  • Leading the complex and high business stakes union negotiations protecting Cargill’s interest dealing with unions, govt machineries and internal stakeholders

  • Leading the culture of transparency and ethical ways of doing business and investigations involving senior leadership irregularities.

Change Leader: 20%

  • Represent Kandla and business clients in prioritization activities and escalations - lead the ER / IR in location and prioritize the business deliverables. Involve key stakeholders for critical & complex deliverables, project assignments.

  • Provide feedback into services priorities to ensure Kandla adoption – regularly review the service deliverables. Build Regular awareness and engagement programs for technological interventions at locations on service delivery model. Build the training programs with L & D team to ensure the adoption across the levels of employees in location.

  • Participate in CBS Migration activities, shared service consolidation and MADJV initiatives as assigned – maximum leverage the CBS and shared services. Lead the change in location, provide framework of deliverables expected from CBS & Shared services. Leverage the New HR – COE, GHRS, CBS, Biz HR model for business deliverables.

  • Promote the use and implementation of tools/technologies within Kandla to gain efficiency in delivering HR Solutions

  • Provide consultation & advice to HR and business managers/supervisors on HR ER/IR issues/activities – be the champion of Process, Data & Technology. Develop models to create awareness and advice on critical and complex ER/IR Situtations and Tasks.

  • Guide/Review/Perform the design and delivery of HR ER/IR training/education sessions for employees, HR professionals, and/or supervisors/managers in the business – build the inventory of business and HR team in location training needs. Work with L & D to deliver the programs as per business identified training needs

  • Using market domain and general HR ER/IR knowledge, provide input to ensure service delivery is compliant with laws, regulations, and corporate policies – lead the labour law compliances and provide consultation, advise to business and ensure the location is fully compliant with the labour laws applicable to the location.

  • Ensure application of standard policies – Work with country ER/IR HR professionals for any policy matters and have an alignment –legal/business/language/technology constraint with the Country ER/IR lead for any location specific policy amendment / implementation

  • Responsible for ensuring proper use of vendor management of HR ER/IR providers within Kandla – lead the vendor management, service providers management; regular reviews of services, contract/agreements and keeping CSS&P, Finance and user department for service & business deliverables.

  • Provide input into the appropriate blend of internally sourced service delivery versus vendor sourced delivery.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and standardization on processes currently managed by country and/or regionally. – have regular feedback mechanism and employee connect for continuous improvement in service delivery. Consistent feedback is provided to CBS & Shared Services for improvement areas.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements in market domain area – Kandla. This may involve working with legal resources and/or external consultants to interpret and implement complex/ambiguous policies

Qualifications

Essential Requirement(s) :

  • Travel up to 10% within market location

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Experience :

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in operations and/or human resources, preferably within

  • Previous experience in HR ER/IR-related market service areas

  • Experience anticipating issues, problem solving and implementing solutions, including referring critical issues to the appropriate level of management, and improving efficiency, quality, cost and productivity

  • Demonstrated experience positively influencing and collaborating with business and HR leaders

  • Demonstrated strong business acumen. Knowledge of multiple businesses, functions, and processes as well as solid knowledge of business and functional issues, and proven track record to positively impact business results.

Skills :

  • General leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills - ability to thrive as part of a local market team

  • Demonstrated understanding of evolving HR landscape and capability of supporting organizational change efforts

  • Capability to innovate and integrate HR practice around critical business issues, and align people, process and structure to support these innovations

  • Fluent in Hindi, English & preferably local language

Education (Preferred) :

  • MBA in HR from institute of repute

  • Bachelor Laws is an added advantage

Experience (Preferred) :

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and implement HR processes and client focused solutions

  • Experience in a shared services organization

  • Project management experience

Skills (Preferred) :
