For our production plant in KREFELD we are seeking to recruit a (m/f) :
Project Accountant (m/f)
The Project and Fixed Asset Accountant is considered a skilled worker who ensures with limited oversight, that cost of complex projects are booked accurately and timely in accordance with relevant standards. The role is also responsible to ensure purchase orders and invoices obtained relevant approvals before recording and independently follow-up as needed. Accurate reporting and analysis, as well as pro-actively giving notice when identifying risk for overspending, are additional requirements for this role.
General accountabilities :
60% Cost Control
Support set up of asset structure in Maximo and JDE (ahead of first order placement).
Close contact with external engineering company to ensure purchase requests (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) are issued in line with asset structure.
Keep close contact with project built manager to ensure relevant approvals for each PR/PO before recording in Maximo.
Record PRs/POs timely and accurately in Maximo according to the established asset structure.
Establish close contact to relevant external engineering personnel and set up frequent meetings (weekly) to reconcile their cost tracking tool with Cargill books.
Actively monitor project cost and raise concerns as needed to highlight potential overspent.
20% Payment Control
Receive project invoices, obtain approval from project built manager and ensure correct matching and payment.
Keep record of pre-payment balances and follow through until final invoice. Keep in contact with procurement who receive and store the related bank guarantees.
Accurate and timely monthly project reporting, including actuals, committed, budget and also estimate to complete in close collaboration with project built manager.
5% RIM – comply with documentation requirement for project & fixed assets accounting
5% Ad Hoc requests for analysis and reporting
Bachelor in economics or certified 3y-apprenticeship (work practice and professional school).
First experience with fixed assets and project accounting.
Strong analytical skills, (internal) customer focused and desire to improve processes.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
A result-driven, open personality with a pro-active and self-motivated attitude.
Ability to adapt to a complex and changing environment with the need for flexibility.
Computer-literate, competent with MS Excel, Access, etc.
Fluent in German and English (verbal / written).
Experience with IT systems IBM Maximo and JD Edwards Financials.
Knowledge of Records Retention requirements.
