Position Purpose & Summary

Risk Management & Sourcing (RMS) is an interconnected department working with all functions to ensure crisp execution for our customers daily. The RMS team provides actionable insights to CAN MEA based on analytics, leveraging global RMS/ WTG as well as knowledge from within the business. Within CAN MEA the RMS Director is responsible for both RMS and pricing. This position is member of the CAN MEA Leadership Team and actively contributes to the overall CAN MEA strategy and priorities. There is a large growth agenda in the MEA region with a large inorganic agenda until 2025. The MEA region current consists of CPN locations and will be adding Compound Feed capacity which is to be supported by the CAN MEA RMS team as a new capability.

Principal Accountabilities

40% - Leadership / People / Organizational Development

  • As member of the CAN MEA leadership team, contribute from an overall perspective (beyond RMS)

  • Lead by example through our values, guiding principles and GreenBook

  • Set direction, build an inspiring vision, map out where you need to go to "win" as a team which is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring.

  • With the LT formulate and execute coherent business (CAN MEA) strategy and realize overall strategy

  • Lead in Safety on the road to elimination

  • Hire and develop high potential team for RMS as well as co-own talent development across CAN MEA

  • Motivate the team for high performance, executional excellence as well as building continuous improvement capabilities in the team

  • Build and develop the right capabilities (both CPN and CFN) in order to deliver exceptional results

  • Ensure constant training in and adherence to process and relevant systems

20% - Risk Management Sourcing

  • Develop and implement a compelling vision and strategy to create a high performing purchasing and pricing organization across the region, based on business needs and in alignment with CAN and CAN MEA’s strategy

  • Implement consistent use of relevant, standardized processes across the region

  • Lead pro-active position management based on market analyses and trends (bearish and bullish) ensuring pro-active plans are executed to manage the risk with either trend and ensure close liaison with

  • the Ingredients Commercial Team to together manage positions

  • Facilitate connectivity with CPN Europe, CFN Europe and other Cargill businesses in Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA) resulting in leveraging knowledge and collaboration to manage risks

  • Identify and champion substitution opportunities

  • Bring insight into pricing, formulation and ingredient sales to capture opportunities

20% - Pricing

  • Lead development, validation and execution of the CAN MEA’s pricing strategy (including Smart Glasses and Pros) in coordination with SMT, Supply Chain and the commercial teams whilst leveraging global Sourcing/Pricing capabilities and best practice in terms of processes, tools, methodology, governance & approval flows

  • Run strategic pricing projects and ensure review and alignment with constant change management

  • Ensure connection with Commercial & SMT teams to align with strategic execution and value capture of new business projects and customer segmentation and play fiduciary role, managing and maintaining approval limits, etc

  • Review alignment of product and customer allocations and ensure global guidelines are met

  • On CAN MEA level lead the process of setting prices

  • Ensure the pricing team enables the sales team to execute its goals, by designing a pricing strategy for both new finished and existing good and products which are purposeful, clear, competitive and executed flawlessly through Smart Glasses and Pros and according to the defined frequency and customer segmentation in close cooperation with SMT, Commercial team, RMS (Risk management and Sourcing) and Formulation.

  • Margin monitoring and process management is key to ensure compliance with Business objectives and Pricing Strategies

20% - Play to win

  • Bring market perspective and opportunities to CAN MEA LT

  • Work with customers to represent RMS and overall opportunities through leveraging Cargill RMS capabilities

  • Provide management and stakeholders with key monthly metrics and margin estimations as well as proposed corrective actions in close connection with FP&A

  • Monitor Processes and Policies application and recommend improvements on CAN MEA level

  • Ensure value capture throughout the pricing process and be accountable for margin performance and P&L impact

  • Ensure implementation of relevant IT tools (SAP, PROS, TABLEAU) across CAN MEA

  • Lead RMS/Pricing stream in MADJV (inorganic growth) projects from due diligence through to integration for both sourcing and pricing

Qualifications

  • University degree - business preferred, Finance or Accounting

  • Having been a part of a cross functional Management and/or Leadership team

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, risk management or related areas and experience in implementation of pricing strategy

  • Proven track record in managing ingredients markets leading to value capture, contract management, supplier management and trading rules (Preferred experience in Pricing in B2B environment in Animal

  • Nutrition industry)

  • 5yrs of experience in leading and developing high performing teams

  • Excellent communication (across matrix) and team leadership skills; ability to collaboratively work cross-functionally and connect people, leverage across the organization

  • Understanding & ability to lead across different cultural environments

  • Strong in process and project management as well as change management

  • Continuous improvement mindset and track record

  • High business awareness - Ability to challenge business decisions and propose different points of view

  • Strong demonstrated ability to solving complex problems in partnership with others

  • Strong analytical and process mindset (systems thinking) combined with conceptual skills

  • Commercial acumen and customer orientation

  • Fluent in English

  • Travel >40%
