Maintenance & Reliability Internship/Co-op:
The Maintenance & Reliability Co-op is a position designed to help improve the planning for the Maintenance & Reliability department, in addition to other assignments and projects that help to achieve our operational needs. You will be trained in the areas to learn basic skills necessary to understand the process to complete assigned project(s) throughout your term.
Review the content of the Preventive Maintenance work orders by collecting data from: the original Manufacturer, the Maintenance team, the Operations team and past failures. The review of the past failure(s) for that machine will be very important in order to avoid them in the future.
Root Cause Analysis.
Use Microsoft Projects in order to plan out the annual rebuilds of the plant equipment and consolidate all this information in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Verify the lubrication system of all the equipment in the plant.
Rearrange manuals in the maintenance department library
Internships are paid and are at least 16 weeks in duration.
Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern
Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year.
Plant or office setting, must be open to interning in either type of setting
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technologist certificate program, graduating between May 2020 and May 2022.
Ability to complete a 12 month Internship (September 2018- September 2019)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated initiative and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a cold environment around moving machinery
Flexible with work hours, may include some weekends
Ability to work around live animals, dust, dander, feathers, etc.
Previous experience in Food Manufacturing is an asset
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
