Position Purpose & Summary

Considered an advanced professional in the accounting space with substantial and broad knowledge to use under limited oversight in conducting moderately complex accounting activities across a country or multi-site. This includes: accounting processes & procedures / compliance, continuous improvement, analysis & reporting, & systems & data management.

Principal Accountabilities

Accounting Processes and Procedures

  • Complete monthly and quarterly closing requirements for US GAAP and tax teams

  • Assist in preparation of Luxembourg Statutory and tax returns including VAT returns

  • Facilitate payments to vendors as part of management of 50 entities

  • Completion of other local requirements and adhoc requests as needed by different stakeholders

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial and management reporting. Partner effectively with several group/business leaders for reporting and data needs

  • Liaise between different Cargill internal groups specifically CFR, Tax, and Treasury

  • Work to document processes and procedures while harmonizing across entities

Analysis

  • Preparation and review of impacts related to forex

  • Preparation of balance sheet and P&L across different entities

  • Provide analysis to different stakeholders towards loan profile, tax positions with ability to summarize transactions

Change Leadership through Process Optimization and Technology driven decision making

  • Provide change leadership in driving process optimization and improving efficiency of reporting

  • Develop and continuously develop documentation towards current procedures to ensure continuity

  • Continue to adapt processes and procedures to changes in requirements

  • Work with technology tools to provide better and more timely information and identify potential for improvements through use of technology

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Strong accounting experience with very good technical knowledge

  • Demonstrated change agility

  • Very good English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good knowledge (written and spoken) of French or German

  • Good knowledge of US GAAP

  • Sound Fx management understanding and multi-currency accounting

  • Experience in Luxembourg Tax, Statutory accounting and/or VAT
