Position Purpose & Summary

Ensures adequate Quality Management System in place, well maintained according to business sector standards and Business Unit Quality Policy and in compliance with local Regulatory requirements.

Development of appropriate information flow for quality data and requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Drive Quality / Management Systems implementation, maintenance, improvements

  • Ensures Quality Systems (such as ISO, HACCP etc.) are in place, well maintained with appropriate certification

  • Implement, audit and develop quality systems in line with BU Quality Policy and local regulatory requirements

  • Ensures local management is regularly informed of major quality and costs issues

  • Provide leadership on key initiatives that would improve products, processes, services and costs

  • Measures and assess Quality performance

  • Systemathically reduces costs of quality within the business whilst raising up quality standards

25% Leads and manages Quality Control in the country

  • Guarantees the conformance of products with agreed specification

  • Organizes all QC activities and ensures all necessary testing is carried out

  • Ensures robust quality control processes in the area of manufacturing, logistics and on farm results

  • Support Supplier development to improve technical standards and raw material quality

  • Ensure that all parts of the systems (procedures, policies and instructions) are well known and appropriately promoted through the organizatio

  • Ensures that all quality documentation are clear and understable for all levels of the organization staff

  • Provides appropriate level of quality trainings in necessary areas (both direct and indirect)

15% Assures compliance with local Regulatory requirements

  • Ensures consumer safety and company compliance with regulations

  • Maintanance and improvement of customer complaint system

  • Provide appropriate level of trainings for all levels of organization connected with the process

  • Coordination of complaint activities between sales, purchasing and operations

  • Measures and report complaint indicators

10% Develops People in the spirit of TQM approach

  • Promotes Quality attitudes, awareness and mindset by proper means including training

  • Provides appropriate support in managing audits / qualifications and seeks for continuous improvement approach.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO/HACCP

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a role.

  • Degree Qualified in Nutrition / Chemistry / Biology or related Science discipline

  • Experience in the food industry.

  • Good communicator across all levels of the organization

  • Intermediate English level.

  • Computer literacy

  • People Management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO/HACCP

  • Degree Qualified in Nutrition / Chemistry / Biology or related Science discipline

  • Higher level degree advantageous, but not essential

  • Background in Food or Pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred (although other FMCG / Electronics could be considered)

  • 5 years of experience in a role.

  • Good communicator across all levels of the organization

  • Deliver concensus and drive changes despite resistance

  • Ability to say ‘NO’ and stick to this position if considered necessary to protect the company and its clients

  • Data driven in decision making, yet still able to make judgements and function effectively if lack of 100% clarity

  • Fluent English is a must

  • Computer literacy

  • People Management skills
