Major Tasks:

The Senior Key account manager is accountable for building customer relationship and insight with complex customers. Commercial accountability include reaching margin & volume targets and establishing growth through innovation. Furthermore, accountability involves deploying marketing tools such as customer account plan for each customer & segmentation, delivering customer specific value propositions, and gaining industry knowledge and translating this back into the wider commercial organization. Sales execution starts at pre contracting phase and ends with payment of the invoice.

Deep Customer Insight & Relationships:

  • Build insight & intimate relationship through customer visits

  • Integrate insight in visit reports, customer account plan, CRM system and feed commercial organization with relevant information

  • Identify demand and integrate knowledge in specific customer value proposals

Achieving Commercial Growth Targets:

  • Plan for continuous growth. Set budget together with the Sales Director

  • Achieve margin and volume targets

  • Plan and execute innovation based growth

Sales Execution & Contract Excellence:

  • Accountable for managing all steps in sales effectiveness process. Starting with pre contracting discussion on terms & conditions, negotiate and conclude a sale, contract entry, until execution and payment of the contract. Appropriately involve Sales Support and other support functions during the process

  • Manage credit and counterparty risk management


  • University Graduate / Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years B2B experience in Sales environment preferably in the food ingredients industry or related

  • Relevant product knowledge

  • Good understanding of process orientation

  • Strong ability to implement the techniques and tools from sales effectiveness
