AEI Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and updating AEI control systems. These systems will include PLC’s, PCM’s, and other systems as assigned. The AEI Specialist will work closely with the electrical, maintenance, engineering, and production teams to maintain and improve the facility.
30% Maintain and replace obsolete systems
Upgrade systems that are out of date
Keep obsolete systems running until they can be replaced
Support networking efforts to improve the ability to maintain operations
Will participate in on call rotation
20% Complete projects
Work independently to complete projects related with control systems (2 main pieces of equipment).
Maintain a budget and timeline for project to Cargill standards
20% Support operations
Training (operators and people in the plant) in how to use the new systems and maintain systems to support operations needs
Support continuous improvement, both with data and control improvements as needed
20% Support instrumentation efforts
Suggest instrumentation as appropriate
Work with electrical team to meet our instrumentation needs
10% Other duties as assigned

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process automation
Ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift and move a minimum of 55 pounds, sit and stand for long periods of time, work in elevated areas, bend and kneel, and work in extreme temperatures.
Attention to detail and appropriately handle confidential information
Effective time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated expertise in multi-tasking, handling projects and meeting deadlines in dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Understanding of instrumentation – flows, temperatures, levels, binary valves, control valves
Ability to understand and create control schematic diagrams and flowcharts including PFD and PIDs
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automation, instrumentation and controls
Strong knowledge of automation software such as PLC Ladder Logic, D3 SABL
