Position Purpose & Summary

A Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) Specialist II (Technology and Commercialization) provides a higher level of specialized knowledge of specific segments of our FSQR systems and/or plant processes to drive change and improve processes. Examples of specialization include (not limited to): partnership with the Manufacturing Excellence team in the definition and selection of the right manufacturing and testing methodologies, FSQR leadership for product commercialization from ideation to customer application, specification design incorporating manufacturing process needs, quality and food safety considerations. This position is expected to provide technical knowledge and support for moderate to highly complex projects and problems which may be directly tied to production area(s), customers/suppliers, data or other FSQR systems. On an enterprise level, in addition to normal enterprise collaboration, this position may be called on for their expertise in helping other locations resolve problems, develop systems or handle customer or supplier situations. This position is able to independently identify complex or long term problems, identify/use resources and implement solutions. This position may also act as an enterprise resource helping with startups, problem resolution at locations/terminals and in some cases providing technical advice to our operations overseas.

Principal Accountabilities

45%In-depth management of specific segments of quality management systems for CCNA (i.e FSQR/Manufacturing Technology, methodology determination and benchmarking, process management, specification management), providing regional execution of best practice initiatives and support for operations or other functional areas where needed.

25%Process monitoring, system improvement support, specialized testing, training, plant trials, auditing of systems and performance for all CCNA Facilities.

20% FSQR tag for business management of our new product development and commercialization processes, including MOC and regulatory evaluation for new products and geographies, customer/supplier/co-manufacturer interaction focused on ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance of CCNA product portfolio.

10%Miscellaneous job related duties

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of FSQR Experience OR a minimum 10 years of FSQR Experience

  • Demonstrated technical and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Demonstrated organization skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people with varying levels of education.

  • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

  • Able to work nights, weekends when necessary.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field

  • 3 or more years of experience as a FSQR Specialist or Supervisor

  • Self-motivated.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt training or certification

  • Experience supervising people.

  • Experience dealing with customers or suppliers.

  • Knowledge of multiple areas of FSQR.

  • Flexible, able to work nights and weekends when necessary.
