The Utilities & facility engineer is responsible for the Mouscron plant :
For the design and specification of utilities and facilities system
For the modification, the redesign, the installation of utilities and facilities system
For the energy aspect (monitoring, reporting and implementing energy projects)
You will be responsible for:
Installation, modification and redesign of utilities and facilities system:
Act as Subject Matter expert (SME) for utilities & facilities (boilers, combined heat power, chillers, compressors, water loops hot- chilled, compressed air, electricity(high, low voltage UPS), HVAC, building, fire control, waste water, ….)
Works on the design and installation of new equipment, on the redesign or modifications to existing system
Contribute to pricing, estimating scoping of projects - Write technical specifications, collect the inputs of production, maintenance, quality to integrate it in the specifications, in the scope documents, use the engineering leading practices toestablish the specifications, establish the equipment part list, define the equipment types, establish/ revise the P&IDS, technical comparison of quotations, assess/ challenge the technical proposal of suppliers
Accountable for all the key documents (Scope document, planning, Specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, as built file, …)
Ensure proper constructability of projects - prepare, plan the construction: planning, risk analysis, write the MOC (modification of change), production impact, prepare the working permit in collaboration with the EHS and production team, follow step by step, hour per hour the construction works, react in case of issue, non-conformity, test the equipment before to put the equipment in production, establish a punch list, assure the closure of this list
Ensure that projects are in line with Cargill leading practices, policies, guidelines, national and international norms
Establish and maintain the technical engineering documentation
Ensure the transfer of knowledge to the maintenance, reliability, production, EHS, quality team
Identify, design, submit & implement energy projects
Externally benchmark utility technology capabilities and performance of alternative or new utility technology capabilities and total cost to operate
Assist in troubleshooting and optimization of utilities and facilities system in collaboration with the production, maintenance, EHS, quality teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering min. or related technical discipline OR 5 years’ experience in engineering, maintenance, reliability management, or project management.
5 years’ experience in utilities, energy, facilities
Working knowledge of the design, construction, the commissioning of boilers, chillers, auxiliary heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment, and high and low voltage electrical and generating equipment.
Working knowledge of the design, construction, the commissioning of building, floor covering, partitions, lighting, control access, fire control, sprinkler, ….
Experience working in a manufacturing facility is an added value
Experience working in a food industry is preferred
Ability to design, to build, to commission, to ramp up utilities and facilities system
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems
Ability to technically advise and trouble shoot utilities and facilities system
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams. Leadership and strong influencing skills
Ability to coach and motivate team resulting in high performance, high engagement
Strong data analysis capabilities for problem solving
Ability to write technical specifications, revise quotations, compare and chose suppliers
Working knowledge of the operation of computer driven control and energy management systems
Working knowledge of energy conservation concepts
Team player, Proactive
Excellent communication skills in English and French OR Dutch
