Position Purpose

The U.S. Dairy Technology Lead is a key role in charge of helping Cargill Animal Nutrition develop and execute a big data strategy in dairy across Cargill Feed & Nutrition (CFN) and Cargill Premix & Nutrition (CPN) as well as scouting, evaluating and implementing new dairy digital technology in US Dairy. This role will predominantly be working in the development and execution of the Cargill proprietary Dairy Enteligen®(DE) platform as the DE Ambassador for the U.S. Dairy market and will be part of the DE Core Team advising and influencing Sr. leadership on direction, deployment, and value capture of for the technology and its application. At the same time the role will be responsible for development and execution of a training and deployment plan for adequate usage of the platform in the field, maintaining the local architecture of access and levels of access, and tracking value capture while disseminating best value capture practices across the local organization. This position will also be the US representative in a global team that will ensure long term health of DE portfolio by means of identifying new opportunities within the S-Curves planning.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Dairy Enteligen Ambassador

  • Champion and lead DE platform deployment

  • Develop and execute training for field force

  • First point of contact for field personnel

  • Lease with global and local STM for continuous improvement of platform as well as new developments

35% Big Data Strategy Leadership - across all dairy segments

15% Technology Scouting and new technology deployment

  • Collaborate with Cargill Digital Insights and Digital Nutrition to develop and deploy technology offerings to meet US customer needs and local market conditions.

The position may be able to be based remotely, with ideal candidate being in close proximity to airport due to some travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering required. Masters or other advanced degree a plus.

  • 8-10 yrs. professional experience, of which at least 5 years are within Agricultural technology, Bio Technology, or a similar industry

  • Experience in successful deployment of commercial technology.

  • Intimate knowledge of dairy records, on-farm management and feed software, and precision dairy technology highly preferred.

  • Passion for creating and implementing technology tools that enhance productivity, efficiency, and better use of big data on farms – turning data into action.

  • Familiarity with Internet of Things (IoT) and applications in agriculture.

  • Proven track record of leading through influence across multiple levels of an organization.

  • Excellent presentation and training skills with ability to relate with a wide variety of audiences

  • Proven project management skills with complex multifaceted projects.

  • Ability to think strategically as well as executing tactical plans.

  • High energy and self-motivation.

  • 50% travel required in this role
