The NIR Analyst ensures accurate and reliable NIR predictions. He ensures that proper sampling procedures are carried out for all raw materials.

- Ensures accurate and reliable NIR predictions for CPN Philippines and coordinates with other NIR site managers in the implementation of NIR BMPs

- Ensure that proper sampling procedures are carried out for all raw materials

- Coordinates and performs other laboratory requests from the CPN Philippines business

- Ensures that the test results are accurate and release of reports are within the specified lead time


Calibration Development

- Implements proper procedure on sample scanning and spectra gathering

- Applies spectroscopy principle on scanning and integrate with ISIScan or any scanning software

- Analyze generated calibrations against wet chemistry

- Determines if the calibration generated is valid or not and determines deviation in the results between wet chemistry and NIR

- Leads the team to correct any deviations detected

Technology Deployment/ Deliver

- Drive improvement of diagnostics in SEA region thur RINA synchronization monitoring

- Ensure NIR data is transferred to RINA to support its use in other systems and processes

- Perform VMI installation in the SEA region

- Perform validation of IX instrument for the SEA region as requested

- Selects needed samples for calibration expansion

- Performs standardization scanning and related tasks when needed

- Makes sure that all CPN Ph NIR calibrations are updated with other local NIR’s

NIR Analysis

- Applies statistical techniques for interpretation of results

- Knows and eliminate factors that affect the prediction of samples

- Follows daily routine checks prior to sampling scanning

NIR Maintenance

- Develops and implement NIR Maintenance schedule

- Performs minor NIR repair and adjustments

Incoming samples of RM and FP

- Ensure that all samples are properly labeled according to the established system for traceability purposes and logged properly in LIMS

- All samples logged in the database are released on a timely basis as reflected on the NIR TAT (turn around time)

- Perform on-site (farm or feedmill) sampling as needed, and suggest/ recommend changes in sampling procedures as deemed needed

- Ensure that controls are in place to prevent biases in sampling and physical inspections

- Ensure that retained samples are kept for validation purposes

- For samples requiring 3rd party laboratory testing, proper approval shall be secured, as well as coordination with the 3rd party laboratory to ensure timely release of results and payment processing

- Ensure that EHS program and Safety Policies are strictly followed by all lab personnel especially in the NIR section

Performs chemical analyses as needed of RM and FP ensuring accuracy and fast acquisition of results

- Analysis of RM and FP in conformance to set chemical standards using existing laboratory equipments, i.e. LECO, Saxtec or XT-15 Ankom Fat Analyzer, HPLC, AAS, etc.

- Perform needed tests to determine the accuracy and standard deviation of each analytical equipment

Reporting and interpretation of results

- Applies statistical techniques in interpreting results

- Determine scope of applicability of each procedure in reference to sample being analyzed

- Validation of results generated against existing materials and determine the integrity of the sample

- Generates reports and document action plans on analytical issues



- BS in Chemistry, BS in Chemical Engineering, BS in Pharmacy and other related courses

- Must be computer literate and trainable in the use of computer software and calculation tools

- Must have statistical background

- Must have training on chemometrics and have at least 2 years work experience in analytical laboratory

- Must have training/ experience in the application of NIR technology
