Position Purpose & Summary

This role will support and lead Cargill's Reliability Excellence Processes and initiatives. It will provide direct coaching and supervision of proactive internal/external crafts persons in the maintenance department. The role oversees the daily execution of all proactive maintenance initiatives, including planning, predictive technologies and materials management. It leads the advanced scheduling function for the facility and coordinates the daily execution of the schedule with the other professional disciplines within the facility. The role will ensure proper functioning of the purchasing and warehouse functions to meet and enhance site material management needs.

Principal Accountabilities

35% - Supervision and coaching of craftsperson's, maintenance support staff and contractors, annual reviews and job skill enhancement training program. This includes the oversight and supervision of the facilities materials management program (Warehousing and purchasing).

20% - Direct supervision of proactive work through management and execution of work flow system. Coordination of scheduled and unscheduled work activities with other professional disciplines. This includes effective execution of job plans, turnarounds and commissioning new equipment.

20% - Lead advanced planning and scheduling function and manages the CMMS (Computerize Maintenance Maintenance System) as related to core job functions.

15% - Analysis of equipment and process failures through cause mapping - cause analysis and RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) Analysis i.e. conveyors, pneumatics, drives, hydraulics, etc.

10% - Complete all Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or another technical discipline OR 3 years equivalent industrial maintenance experience in lieu of degree OR 5 years supervisoryor leadership experience, with a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance, engineering, or production management in lieu of degree.

  • Ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments (production, administrative, logistics, etc.), contractors, suppliers, inspectors and customers

  • Ability to take off-hour calls and rotate on call accountability with facility staff as needed (1 weekend per month)

  • Ability to apply Cargill's policies and procedures in the areas of safety and environmental compliance

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude

  • Working knowledge of predictive maintenance technology (vibration, oil, infrared, ultrasonic analysis, etc.)

  • Strong leadership skills - able to lead in an culturally sensitive environment

  • Ability to utilize computer based management systems

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SMRP CMRP certification (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Supervisor)

  • Certification in 2 or more predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, oil, infrared, ultrasonic analysis, etc.)

  • Ability to work with a wide variety of workstyles; including customers and co-workers at all levels

  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, CMMS, Maximo)

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak candidly and provide constructive feedback

  • Supply procurement, maintenance planning, project management, budget preparation, scheduling experience

  • Working knowledge of grain handling or boat material handling equipment, such as conveyor belts, barge unloaders, or ship loaders, etc.

  • Ability to make independent decisions

  • Working knowledge of SAP or other asset accounting system

  • Working knowledge of purchasing and warehouse systems

  • Working knowledge of craft skills development program
