The Sales Director of our Walmart Corporate Account has the primary responsibility for developing and executing Cargill’s commercial strategy with Walmart U.S., as well as managing the sales and analytic teams for each Cargill business unit represented by the Walmart shared service. They will also be responsible for the organization and skill development of the team in Bentonville that interfaces with this strategic customer.
This role will work closely with the Corporate Account Leader to build a ground-up budget for the U.S. business, and will share accountability with the Corporate Account Leader to meet the budget (cost) and achieve the business goals (revenue/margin). This person must be willing to champion the customer’s point of view within Cargill and be willing/able to navigate difficult conversations internally for the benefit of our overall business with Walmart and Sam’s Club.
30% Leads the strategic development, tactical deployment and execution of sales plans and goals with Walmart and Sam’s Club U.S.
30% Ensures customer connectivity is deployed at all levels of the Cargill organization and takes direct responsibility for Walmart U.S. customer satisfaction and business retention. Collaborates closely with senior level Cargill leadership to support the development of a deep customer relationship(s).
40% Engage and ensure full maximization of the Walmart U.S. customer to enhance Cargill’s business relationship to achieve business and category goals.
Engage Cargill business unit commercial leadership in Walmart strategies to obtain growth and profitability for both Cargill and Walmart/Sam’s
Translate long-term sales strategy into defined and quantifiable sales objectives, goals and definition of targets
Responsible for the development and execution of the detailed plan of activities to pursue, reassess, and ensure sales targets and goals are achieved.
Partners with the Corporate Account Leader in creation of team budget and allocation process and share accountability for meeting budget needs.
Leads and supports the team in defining the landscape for the organization. Identifies and prioritizes growth opportunities and services through customer feedback insights, customer needs and business capabilities.
Design and maintain team structure to support customer strategy in a cost-effective manner.
Has direct/indirect accountability for the sales workforce planning and staffing; identifies the critical skills and knowledge required for optimum job performance; champions the recognition of the best contributors; and identifies/removes barriers to performance.
At least 5 years of customer interfacing professional work experience
Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Ability to reside in Northwest Arkansas area
Retail sales experience
Demonstrated work experience within the meat industry
Walmart/Sam’s Club knowledge/experience
Case Ready meat merchandising experience
