Position Purpose & Summary

This position will complete supplier evaluations to determine risk and appropriate additional due diligence. This position will work closely with suppliers to ensure that ingredients and suppliers sourced are compliant to our minimum FSQR standards. This position will identify FSQR supplier gaps, communicate to suppliers and verify when necessary that FSQR gaps have been closed satisfactory. This position will partner with the business to schedule audits and train resources. This position will evaluate materials to determine risk. This position will strongly partner with Risk Management and Sourcing (RMS), Strategic Marketing & Technology (SMT), and FSQR teams to manage the risk related to suppliers and ingredients. This position will report administratively to the FSQR lead CPN Europe.

This position must align with the registration officer.

Principal Accountabilities

  • 40% Lead implementation and management of S/EM process in the CPN Europe, including use of only approved suppliers who have provided all required documentation and completed required food safety improvements as a result of food safety assessments. EU regulatory approval for the business

  • 20% Coordinate audit suppliers and external manufacturers within the businesses to complete and ensure follow up on audit findings.

  • 10% Assist business to assure compliance to the S/EM process, ensure resources are trained and calibrated

  • 10% Leads change management communication and ensures ongoing relationship management with suppliers and external manufacturers

  • 5% Raise deployment risks or issues, develop mitigation strategies for issue resolution and manage improvement opportunities and respond to questions raised by the business

  • 5% Manage S/EM process implementation plan for business – yearly review, progress tracking, etc.

  • 10% Ensure intake control according local requirements, meeting adulterant testing requirements, ensure central collection of data in close cooperation with the CAN S/EM manager.

Minimum Required Qualifications


  • 4-year degree in science or business discipline (Master of Science or an equivalent)


  • 5 years’ experience in a processing environment (food, feed, pharmaceutical, chemical, etc.)

  • 3 years’ experience interacting with external stakeholders (suppliers, certification bodies, etc.)

  • Prior experience leading a body of work or a team

  • Experience managing through ambiguity


  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous environments and utilize active inquiry skills

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate closely with others to accomplish work

  • Proven ability to influence at all levels within the organization

  • Demonstrated effective ability to Teach / Coach others outside reporting relationships

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and mediate conflict; ability to develop solutions that all parties fell are equitable

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group discussions and meetings

  • Knowledge of Food/Feed Safety, Quality, and Auditing systems

  • Demonstrated effective Commercial Problem Solving / Decision Making

Preferred Qualifications


  • Degree in food or animal science or other related discipline (master’s degree or equivalent)


  • Feed industry knowledge

  • Feed safety, quality experience

  • Analytical experience is a pre

  • Past experience deploying and/or working with relevant major processes

  • Prior project experience
