Position Purpose & Summary:

Responsible for portfolio and project management activities across programs with high cost, complexity, and risk – typically Top and Signature initiatives. The candidate for this position will be responsible for program leadership, project planning, project execution, project control, and business results.

The focus of the projects this position will work on falls within ERP Portfolio with a special focus and expertise required for SAP deployment projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

Project & Program Management and Leadership

  • Provide strategic vision to the program/project team using expert knowledge of portfolio management and thorough business/technical knowledge.

  • Leads periodic program reviews utilizing industry leading knowledge of the project delivery process.

  • Identifies, recommends and implements program management practices based on industry leading knowledge of project management.

  • Provide mentorship, coaching and development for team members, peers, and functional leads as appropriate. Influence laterally.

  • Integrate people and other resource to develop, implement and monitor the integrated project plan.

  • Accountable for proactive risk & issue management and propose creative “go to green” plans.

  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities and build a culture of data driven decisions.

  • Accountable for all Project outcomes including but not limited to Business Case, Cost, Schedule, Quality etc.

  • Manage project team productivity metrics such as yield and recovery

  • Actively manage team performance by providing resource managers

Program Planning/Execution/Control and Business Results

  • Defines program objectives and scope and leads the execution on Top and Signature initiatives.

  • Accountable for the development of Integrated Program plans and regularly monitoring progress to identify variances and make needed corrections.

  • Provide oversight in coordinating efforts across projects in a program and monitor and control dependencies and address escalated issues.

  • Accountable for providing the Program Sponsor and stakeholders with a routine status of the program, actively communicating issues and threats, and ensuring that leadership alignment is a priority.

  • Works with business to ensure product is successfully implemented and benefits and value are captured for high cost and risk programs.

  • Ensures successful completion of all projects and closure of all aspects of the program.

  • Engage with Functions leadership (and other stakeholder groups as necessary) to foster relationships.

  • Ensure execution of the stakeholder management plan for wave business’ stakeholder groups for a successful implementation.

  • Leads the Gate Review process with Functions and Global IT Leadership.

  • Bring Function leaders and stakeholders along on the change journey at the appropriate pace to ensure successful execution of the change plan.

Project & Process Controls

  • Regularly measure and monitor project progress to identify variances from the plan and make any needed corrections. Contain and resolve issues within the program that do not require sponsor attention.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience.

  • 10 years of IT industry experience with exposure to various phases of the SDLC.

  • Strong experience in a project leadership / program management role with complex projects (more than 50 resources, more than $1 million) and proven experience in SAP implementation projects.

  • Detailed understanding of project management principals & methodology.

  • Experienced in Strategic thinking/problem solving – understands the details but able to draw out insights and communicate the impact on strategy; demonstrated inquiry and advocacy skills.

  • Experience utilizing formal and informal networks within an organization to deliver results and remove obstacles for team members; Ability to build and maintain strong and trusted partner relationships; Conflict management skills.

  • Results oriented, with strong collaboration and influencing skills needed in a complex matrix organization.

  • Ability to adapt and remain effective in dynamic and ambiguous environments.

  • Knowledge of and experience with Organizational Change Management including Stakeholder identification and impact assessment, communication planning, and training and education planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Waterfall or Iterative Project Management methodologies;

  • Technical and/or Delivery experience in application´s projects and operations;

  • Experience in working with vendors across the globe;

  • Experience in working with outsourcing engagements.
