Marketing together with Strategy & Business Development and Research & Development is part of Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate(CCC) Strategy & Innovation. Marketing consists of both Strategic Marketing and Commercial Marketing.
The purpose of this role is based on analysis to identify opportunities, develop solutions, introduce to market, support sales in achieving commercial targets. Key market trends include sustainability, price risk management, health & wellness, premiumzation, and changing customer landscapes.
EMEA Marketing supports five product lines: Cocoa powder, liquor, butter and Chocolate, including compound. There is no ‘hard split’ between Cocoa and Chocolate and/or Strategic and Commercial Marketing. The weight in this role is on Cocoa and Commercial Marketing.
Strategic Marketing consist of:
- Opportunity Space and Trend - identify, analyse, and recommend response to changes in the market
- Category Insight - identify, analyse, and recommend response on how to win in target categories
- Product Line Architecture - identify, analyse, and recommend on required changes in portfolio to win in the market and customers of the future; set direction for Level 1 – 3 innovation projects
- Innovation process
Beyond Strategy & Innovation the main stakeholders in this area include R&D, Product Line Management and Sales.
Commercial Marketing consist of:
- Activation of opportunities defined as part of Annual Marketing plan
- Lead bringing to market of new product development
- Support sales with innovation days, concept library, marketing material
- Brand and content marketing --- including development of value proposition
Beyond Strategy & Innovation the main stakeholders in this area include Sales, Technical Service.
In order to be successful in the role it is required to be a self-starter, being able to move between conceptual and execution, high energy, resilient, ability to work with multiple stakeholders, connect Marketing knowledge with existing CCC business.
30% Develop, drive, activiate the (regional) Marketing plan in alignment with Sales/Technical.
30% Plan to include identified opportunities from strategic marketing, identified customer opportunities
20% Lead projects that are derived from marketing processes / product line architecture (the customer jobs to be done) from explore to measurement.
15% Drive the IBP EMEA PMR (Port Folio Management); prepare, facilitate, and drive towards outcome
10% Support Innovation process
10% Support Strategic Marketing/ Go to Market (GTM) in translating strategic marketing insight towards (Regional) Marketing Plan
15% Brand Management – preparing sales tools, have best visibility in the industry, stand out competition.
Marketing experience & passion
Mental agility & Resilience to drive Marketing in supply chain oriented B2B environment
Ability to think conceptual and drive execution
Minimum 8-10 years work experience in B2B Marketing
Commercial mindset - ability to connect with sales
Define process, implement, embed, and execute
Technical skills: Tools and systems (SalesForce.Com)
Language skills: English (must) one extra
