Position Purpose

Responsible for bag inventory and cryovac machine operation. This person will also be responsible for training operators and fellow employees on all jobs in the department.Employee will work closely with department supervisor and plant packaging coordinator.Employee will also work with maintenance department maintaining machines and do some maintenance.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Help manage bag inventory, and maintain the appearance of the bag room.Be responsible for inventory and bag usage during the day. - 25.00%

  • Work with fellow team members by training and guiding them to be successful.Will require training employees on machine operation and performance.Will identify areas where it is possible to be more efficient in the department.- 15.00%

  • Plan, coordinate and direct all quality, sanitation, regulatory and food safety programs within the establishment to insure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations. - 10.00%

  • Work with the maintenance department by identifying problems with Cryovac machines.Will be required to do some maintenance work on the machines.Will also communicate any issues with vendors, supervisors, and fellow employees. - 25.00%

  • Work with other departments on problems with products and machines.Will also be required to spend time in other departments training other employees.Will also report to department supervisor and plant packaging coordinator. - 25.00%

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalences

  • 3 months of service working for Cargill (internal only)

  • Can operate and maintain a forklift license also pass and maintain all safety policies including LOTO

  • Comprehensive knowledge of plant operations sufficient to guide and train employees

  • Basic knowledge of safe food handling practices

  • Basic knowledge of employee safety practices

  • Basic math skills (read and compare weights and measurements, add, subtract, multiply, divide)

  • Good communication (able to read, write and speak English)

  • Able to deal with conflict (able to enforce procedures and specifications)

  • Acceptable attendance record (up to the discretion of the Company; internal only)

  • Can read, coordinate, and understand the fabrication makesheet

  • Understand the carcass grading procedures and follow all rules in carcass grading

  • Able to do heavy lifting and physical work (up to 90lbs of lifting)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Beef processing Experience

  • Bi-lingual (English, Spanish)

  • Cryovac operator training

  • Basic Cryovac maintenance and machine knowledge
