Performs the more complex sourcing fundamental support activities for Packaging within North Asia (China, TW, and Korea.)
INFORM/DEFINE SOURCING STRATEGIES
- Ensures understanding of business requirements for packaging category aligned with local sourcing responsibility.
FACILITATE IMPLEMENTATION & ALIGNMENT OF SOURCING STRATEGIES
- With some oversight by more senior sourcing professionals, supports and may lead the more complex aspects of category/sub category efforts across the sourcing lifecycle within the local sourcing responsibility including:
customizing and cascading sourcing communications for local audience
monitoring supplier performance and compliance to regional agreements
Ensures implementation of category strategy at the local level, working through local/country procurement teams.
CATEGORY DATA RESEARCH, ANALYSIS, & MEASUREMENT
With some oversight from more senior team members, conducts more complex research and analysis (e.g. internal/external data from traditional and non-traditional/non-structured data sources) requiring a general understanding of data management and analytics and sourcing environment (e.g. suppliers, cost drivers, market risk) and business requirements for Packaging category.
Ensures functionality and accuracy of more complex data content, and coordinates data updates.
Establishes and maintains on-going tracking mechanisms for more complex performance metrics, reporting on value captured at the local level.
MANAGE SOURCING EVENTS & SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS
Participates in supplier selection and negotiations at the local level; may lead more complex supplier selection and negotiations.
With some oversight, works with suppliers to resolve more systemic issues that have been escalated from country procurement staff.
Domestic travel (30% of the time) some Regional Travel
- Bachelor degree in packaging engineering/material engineering from reputable university/college
Having a minimum 3 years of relevant experience in packaging sourcing
Interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Ability to work across culture will be an advantage
Preferable for those having working experience in a medium to large multinational or multi locations companies
Knowledge of the market, suppliers and cost drivers
- Strong interpersonal skills & ability to:
Engage, communicate & influence senior stakeholders (internal & external)
Establish trust & credibility with BU leaders & other functional stakeholder
Strong negotiation, business process & problem solving capabilities
Strong knowledge of food packaging, drink industry or dairy industry is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with suppliers and drive mutually beneficial solutions
Good communication in English both written and oral
