This full-time position is located in Sidney, Ohio. Relocation assistance is not provided.

This is an entry level position for a Maintenance Vibration Technician with a designation as a Maintenance Craftsperson "C". The main purpose of this position is to collect vibration data. The Vibration Technician is responsible for data collection, work order entry, inspections, predictive based maintenance tasks, and occasional mechanical maintenance tasks. Interacts on a regular basis with operators, management, peer maintenance and contractors/vendors.

Vibration Technicians in this position:

70% Perform route based inspections and data collection on rotating assets located across the facility (Crush, Refinery, and Packaging).Visually monitor equipment and assets during vibrations routes.Report findings in Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS – SAP). Ensure updated vibration routes in SAP and TRIO data collector. Communicate with Data Analysis service (Azima) on findings and suggested corrective actions.Report findings to maintenance team and assist in determining proper timing for repairs.

10% Input work order information/updates and work results in CMMS (SAP).Printing and fulfilling planned vibration activities – report defects in CMMS.Report in writing any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective, predictive, or planned maintenance for production systems.Daily management of the CMMS related to core job function.

10% Troubleshoot vibration related failures and participate in cause analysis

5% Assist mechanics with shutdown maintenance tasks and take part in the mechanical on-call rotation.

5% Complete all Environmental, Health, & Safety responsibilities.Assist in Process Safety requirements associated with vibration tasks

  • Perform pre-job hazard analysis worksheet(s) and turn in to direct supervisor.

  • Participate in ongoing maintenance skill level improvement training and apply what they have learned.

  • Perform all requested tasks professionally and in a reasonable time frame.

  • Work extended shifts to support the facility which may require coming in early, before normal shift and staying over later than normal shift. Short notice may be given. Assist maintenance craftspersons to make repairs on nights, weekends or holidays as required.

  • Attend various safety and department meetings.

  • Understand and adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations.

  • Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental impact of the operation.

  • Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved.

  • Assist other plant personnel as needed, and will perform any other duty as requested by supervisor.

  • Must be able to take a mechanic test and pass at 60%

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production plant.

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and working in confined spaces

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold

  • Ability to work in elevated areas

  • Must be able to operate machinery

  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment

  • Able to read/write English

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to work overtime

  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts

  • Must be able to perform maintenance trades including mechanical maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift Certified

  • At least 1 year of experience in production related work

  • Able to perform maintenance trades including electrical, machinist, welding, rigging systems, pipe fitting, and fabrication, gearbox and bearing, maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic

  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
