Position Purpose & Summary

The FPA Analyst will have accountability / responsibility to provide information & analytical support on Financial & Operational KPIs to commercial & operations leads of the business by monitoring performance & identifying areas of improvement.

Accountability includes activities which are value creation focused and include, working closely with commercial/operation lead(s), production of forward looking analysis & reports. Responsibilities include analyzing data to provide insights into profitability of products / customers, margins, evaluating capital investment basis market / volume scenarios.

Working with the respective country A&F leads, responsibility will include managing production of timely & accurate financial & management reports with insights on critical KPIs.

The role will have breath across different countries & thus building strong relationships & trust with multiple functional & business leads will be critical for success in the role.

Principal Accountabilities

In this role, the FP&A senior analyst will mainly work on CTP (tropical palm) business with the CTP team. There will also be involvement in CASC APAC projects and tasks which is in Australia, North and South Asia.

1. Capital expenditure (CAPEX) analysis -30%

  • Work with project managers to analyze the returns and execution on base and non-base capital commitment

  • Track progress and action items of continuing projects with impact analysis on milestones

  • Provide the view of the total portfolio outlook for business leaders to prioritize and align with the strategy

2.Timely & Accurate Financial / Management Reports with insights on KPIs -30%

  • Partner closely and leverage the Accounting and Finance teams for key information points including historical reporting and data collection. May include activities related to accounting, risk / margin reporting, currency / FX impact, analysis of data and management reports, activity based costing or cost allocation to products and customers, management reports generation, etc.

  • Utilize and improve existing frameworks and reports to enhance the analytical environment.

  • Work on annual operating plans & realistic periodic forecasts with focus on achieving targeted KPIs.

  • Develop analytics and reports and support the team in driving consistent use of business support tools and internal processes.

3.Business Partnering -10%

  • Partner with commercial leads to shape and drive the execution of segment and customer strategies

  • Drive cost to serve analysis, insight and forward looking recommendations to optimize business performance.

  • Participate in business customer solution teams with focus on offering financial solutions to customers.

  • Supports the business with new business activities and issues resolution, including business transactions, tax and customs issues, and liaising with legal and other cross-functional departments as necessary

  • Develop benchmarking insights and action plans

  • Customer profitability aligned to strategy including simulations and business modelling

4. Process Improvement-10%

  • Work with A&F team on reporting for monthly close financials

  • Align performance metrics with business strategy

  • Develop tools & reports to improve visibility on key business KPIs

  • Partners closely with the COE and the cross-business/functional managers to play an active role in enhancing connectivity and communication

5. Others / Ad-hoc -20%

  • Provide analytical support for the CASC APAC Regional FP&A activity as required on need basis.

  • Strong and permanent liaise with the other FP&A expertise domains to identify and leverage growth opportunities while getting an holistic view of the business across the geography.

  • Active participation in various business finance initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, accounting or other Business related degree

  • Minimum of 5-8 years relevant experience

  • Candidates for position should have experience within Finance/ Accounting /FP&A

  • Proficiency in excel and ppt

Preferred Required Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA, Master’s Degree in Business or Finance

  • Regional / International business experience

Skills Required

  • Ability to integrate and interpret disparate sources of data using a broad range of analytical data tools. Incorporates use of statistical methodology and predictive modeling techniques

  • Design, develop and implement value-added business analytics

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen. Ability to understand the business (products/services, customers, processes) and their key drivers of success (how they make money, what the business costs are).

  • Demonstrates high degree of curiosity & challenging status quo. Invest time and energy into learning the details. Seeks different points of view and perspectives

  • Approaches work with a well balance local / regional perspective

  • Ability to partner and engage with centers of expertise (like CBS, Tax, Audit, Controls, HR, IT)

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
