Position Purpose & Summary
This position works with moderately complex carrier operations and business transportation models, such as limited activity with multiple modes connections and inter-modal interactions. Using comprehensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry,makes recommendations according to that knowledge and past experience to provide business partnership and conduct interactions.
This position will independently conduct moderately complex activities across multiple regions within Europe. Responsible for operations of more typical facilities with standard requirements of service. This includes data management, reporting & analysis, shipment execution, internal client base, business partnership, and resource management.
This postion provides distribution, transportation, and logistical solutions on outbound movement of finished product from origin to destination. With limited supervision, executes order scheduling and logistics activities that support the the supply chain.
50% Load Tendering/Capaicty Planning
Establishes strong working relationships with Cargill carrier operators and with outside carrier owners/operators.
Communicates with warehouses and carriers to coordinate transportation of product to customer
Provides timely communication with carrier owners and operators, terminals, and maintains daily operational contact with clients and carriers on order/shipment information
Maximizes efficiencies and effectiveness by leveraging relationships with other colleagues and offices, and provides timely information to sales, customer service, operations, management and material handling providers to assist with order/shipment changes to optimise costs
Addresses service incidents and identifies/recommends improvement opportunities between logistics service providers and the businessTransport and order scheduling, control of external warehouse stocks, packed order execution & consolidation, and external toll-processing / filling activities.
Operates within the transport strategy and resolves day to day issues in resourceful and effective ways and provides recommendations to support improved or cost-beneficial transport movements.
Arranges the transportation between the plant and final destination. Ensures that awarded carriers are used on every possible occasion and reports on any deviation, whatever the reason. Scheduling
Responsible for day-to-day order and transport scheduling and reporting of shipments according to sales orders. Typically involved in one or more transportation & logistics modes of warehousing, bulk liquid, bulk powder and packed products.
Ensures that sales order execution meets the requirements of both the producing plants and the customer
30% Track and Trace
Track and trace loads from origin to destination and monitors stock levels of packed products in both plant and third party warehouses arranging stock replenishment orders as necessary
Reviews carrier and warehouse service levels and provides recommendations to the central transport and logistic team to improve operating performance.
Solves day-to-day problems by making decisions and escalating to local supervisor ways to improve carrier and customer relationships in order to minimise risks to service levels, to reduce costs and to minimize delays.
Escalates any carrier or warehouse non- compliance with Cargill EHS and Food Safety requirements to local supervisor immediately any such incident is realized or perceived.
10% Reporting and Metrics
Supports the business with IMPAS – SQI investigation and improvement processes
Daily KPI reporting and execution of improvement process with the team locally
5% Vendor Management
- In conjunction with mode teams, manages terminal and customer relationships to ensure requirements are met.
5% Carrier Claims Resolution
Participating with the material resource order scheduling for the transport activities
Claims and incidents – IMPAS service incident
Customer service, customer orders
Additional Charges approval,arrangement, and reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Secondary or higher education level
2-3 years experience in transportation and logistics role (Transport Forwarding)
Experience with advance MS Excel spreadsheet data extraction
Experience managing multiple priorities and tasks daily
Computer literacy. Knowledge of TMS required and A-Force (to be trained if needed).
Intermediate knowledge of transportation & logistic market and carriers
Good understanding of supply chain processes
Good understanding of business functions, focused on cost and budget controls
Systemic approach to problem solving and decision making
Ability to set priorities and organise work
PnL cost management/cost concious
Strong communication, listening and presentation skills
Open to change and continuous improvement focused
Team oriented mindset
Experience in transport forwarding provider or Supply Chain Management
Knowledge of Supply Chain & Operational functions
