Manage/execute procurement transaction processes

  • Ensures that requests are processed for procurement of materials/goods, services and/or supplies for local use from various plant/location staff or a procurement/inventory management system (e.g. Maximo or other ERP) for nondiscretionary, contracted spend, such as stock replenishment or planned spend

  • May procure requests from existing supplier contracts within established, lower dollar limits under general supervision.

  • May delegate some administrative duties to support staff

Manage inventory/procurement records

  • Run and provide basic analysis of procurement/inventory management system reports; keeps internal stakeholders (e.g. plant operations staff, finance) informed of status.

  • Identifies short term supply chain issues and advises appropropriate parties to implement solutions.

Provide procurement support & planning

  • With frequent oversight, works with plant/location staff to pull together readily available information and applies a general understanding of plant operations to provide general forecasting of general supply needs and ensures purchasing plan is aligned.

  • Conducts basic research and analysis requiring a basic understanding of operations and business .

Manage supplier events & relationships

  • With frequent oversight, may assist in process of selecting suppliers for procurement of non-contracted materials/goods, services and/or supplies which are considered non-leveraged, local spend within lower dollar limits including:

o Gathering and performing basic analysis of internal spend data

o Gathering specifications/requirements from internal stakeholders

o Researching local supplier options

o Collecting supplier bids and perform basic analysis of results

o Negotiating basic contract terms and conditions

  • May be assigned responsibility for less significant, local suppliers

  • With approval, contacts supplier and takes basic actions to research variances with less complex supplier contract terms and conditions

  • Works with applicable plant/location staff to research and resolve less complex supplier issues

  • With some oversight, coordinates day to day, routine activities related to alignment and implementation of strategic sourcing activities

  • Maintains on-going tracking mechanisms for less complex performance metrics at the local level


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance, supply chain, procurement, or related degree program.

  • Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills;detail-oreinted with the ability ot handle multiple priorities

  • Experience working with an ERP system

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Accesss

  • Intermediate 10 key data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an ERP system

  • Negotiation experience

  • ISM or APICS Certification

  • Manufacturing experience
