As the EMEA Finance Lead, you are responsible for providing leadership and accurate and timely execution of all retained (non-Cargill Business Services) accounting and finance activities for the EMEA Sub Region, across all businesses/ enterprises as well as corporate activities in the countries. You also have the country responsibility as the Accounting & Finance Lead. Primary accountability of this position is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of retained accounting activities through alignment of processes, deployment and stabilization of system implementation and, collaboration with teams spanning across product groups, across functions, and across enterprises.

Responsibility will span across multiple business groups, legal entities and locations within the sub region. The primary accountability is to seek and implement consolidation opportunities thus leveraging the scale which exists across the finance organization in the sub region, ultimately resulting in optimization of those activities and proper support for the businesses in the countries.

Major Tasks

  • You manage the teams and provide effective guidance. Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a regular basis.

  • You contact point for all team members and act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

  • You are responsible for the hiring, on-boarding and development of the finance teams.

  • You seek and implement consolidation opportunities across the country.

  • Identify talent and champion development opportunities reflective of the business needs, succession plans and growth objectives.

  • In conjunction with the Regional Controller, as EMEA Finance Lead, you serve as a key point of contact on fiduciary compliance, reporting, including segregation of duties matters.

  • You oversee finance and accounting operations required to support the businesses in country.

  • You hold self and team accountable for delivering results, and leads in the continuous improvement of finance activities across teams and regions.

  • You identify and implement internal control systems that provide effective and efficient operations; reliable financial reporting; and compliance with laws, regulations and corporate policies.

  • You are accountable for CRP (Control Review Package) for the businesses in their specific country.

  • You champion efforts to ensure controls and compliance measures are in place for all reported financial information.

  • You create an accounting and finance strategy & approach which aligns with the strategy of the enterprise and finance job family.

  • You provide change leadership in driving process optimization, leveraging of shared services, and improving the efficiency of finance operations.

  • You collaborate with other accounting and finance leads.

  • You liaise with Tax to ensure resources are in place and requirements are met and enforce income tax allocation policy.



  • Master’s Degree in Business or Finance/Accounting

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a culture shift of continuous improvement and optimization

  • Solid understanding of US and Polish GAAP

  • Polish and English Proficiency

  • Demonstrated ability to develop long term strategic plans

  • Strong accounting experience with very good technical knowledge

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated experience and success in managing virtual teams and motivating for high performance

  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
