Description

The Regional A&F organization is organized by process domains. Key process domains in the A&F organization include Accounting & Reporting (A&R), Management Information and Decision Support (MI&DS), Financial Risk Management (FRM), Controls and Process Improvement.

The Regional Process Improvement Lead for EMEA will coordinate with Global Project Managers - thought leadership to drive implementation of standardized processes and technological improvements (PRTP, SAP deployment etc) in partnership with Country A&F, CBS Finance, FPAs and COE’s in the region. Leading a small team of specialists, the PI Lead will work with the regional A&F organization to identify process improvement opportunities in end to end finance processes, and will work with the Global Process Organisation in strategizing, planning & implementation. In coordination with GPMs, the PI team will communicate new and changed policies, ensure standards and procedures are followed, identify and notify exceptions and deviations.

The PI Lead will provide thought leadership and coaching on all A&F processes and improvement options in all domains. Two key areas of operation will be

1. Within the EMEA PRTP improvement process project, guiding the PRTP service owners in the various countries to achieve a high compliance to processes, leading to a satisfactory reputation of Cargill with its supplier base.

2. As new country A&R teams are set up, this position will work, in conjunction with the team of PI specialists, with the country A&R leads to design common processes across all Cargill businesses. The common process will be carried out by the newly formed A&R teams. Thereafter this PI lead will drive a continuous improvement process, eventually training the country A&R teams to be self-sufficient in their approach.

The regional PI lead is an integral part of Regional A&F organization working with guidance from the GPO organization and is responsible for leading the improvement agenda for EMEA A&R processes through process standardization and technological improvement. This position should play a leading role in change management, be highly focused on process improvement.

70%Continuous Improvement, Process Standardization and Optimization

  • Participate in A&F workshops and bring visibility of current state, identifies, leads and prioritizes the implementation of key opportunities for improvement (across process, data, technology and people) within A&R.

  • Define base line and actively benchmark process and solutions against external best practice to ‘bring the outside in’

  • Partners with GPO team to ensure alignment of process improvement initiatives within Regional A&F organization in A&R and domains. Integration with CBS finance on process improvement; integration with upstream processes areas, e.g. commercial, supply chain, etc.

  • Provide support to GPO organization in building business cases for any significant initiatives (those requiring additional investment).

  • Seeks opportunities to maximize benefits of newly deployed technologies within the Finance IT portfolio.

  • Communicate new and changed policies, ensure standards and procedures are followed, identify and notify exceptions and deviations to GPOs and Regional A&F organization to drive alignment and consistency across sub regions.

  • Work with sub region A&F leads in defining and building the skills and capabilities needed in A&R and MI&DS domain.

  • Train and guide regional A&F organization in A&R domain in respect of new technology and improved processes which enables effective and efficient execution of processes in these domains.

  • Responsible for driving the standardization of A&R processes, reducing waste and variation.

  • Connect point in Regional A&F with Global Finance Data team and enterprise data analytics teams

10%Project Management for Key Initiatives in A&F in the EMEA region

  • Responsible for the Project Management, and successful delivery of, improvement initiatives within their assigned areas in EMEA region.

  • Responsible for leading and coordinating project team members from multiple groups (Regional A&F, FPAs, GPO, CBS, PMO, IT) and locations.

  • Ensures suitable project planning, communication and governance is in place.

  • Ensures timely corrective actions and escalations are made to GPOs and Regional Controller when/where required.

  • Responsible for regular project status reporting to project sponsors and A&F steering committee.

  • Responsible for quantifying and managing delivery of project benefits.

20%Business Partnering, Stakeholder Management, Change Management

  • Management of relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g. CBS Finance Leaders, Regional Controllers, A&F Leads as well as Finance IT).

  • Partner with Global IT to ensure successful delivery of new systems as well as enhancements to current technology.

  • Work with GPOs, A&F, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects to develop a business process architecture based on business scenarios, technology capabilities and industry leading practice.

  • Ensures key stakeholders are well engaged and informed of the A&R & Domain improvement initiatives.

  • Leads change management for improvements, effectively engaging those impacted by change, getting buy in and support, preparing teams for transition, as well as assessing effectiveness of solutions post implementation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10 Years process and / or accounting operations experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification in Accounting required.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance process architecture role

  • Strong ability to influence others, building credibility with peers and key stakeholders

  • Experience with finance process and process improvement methodology, modeling and tools

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills

  • Experience working with matrixed teams without direct supervisory responsibility

  • Experience with SAP & JDE applications essential

  • Comfortable in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Articulate and effective communication skills with an appreciation for cultural dynamics

  • Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen Methodologies and Tools

  • End to End Process Mapping

  • Data Mining experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in A&R processes

  • Demonstrated background in JDEdwards and/or SAP

  • Previous project management experience

  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
