Position Purpose & Summary:
To support the organic growth agenda in Middle East and Africa we are looking for a Category Manager Poultry to lead the development and execution of the MEA poultry marketing strategy. Furthermore you are responsible for leading key projects and providing new ideas and concepts to help our teams meet the needs of our customers. In this role you report to the Strategic Marketing Lead and you will join the Strategic Marketing and Technology team (SMT) which is a diverse and multicultural team and operating throughout the entire MEA region.
40% POULTRY STRATEGY & PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
Responsible for the development and execution of the MEA poultry marketing strategy and growth agenda by focusing on ‘where to play’ and ‘how to win’ across the different countries and customer segments we support.
Responsible for product lifecycle management of our poultry portfolio (e.g. decrease /increase the number of SKUs, utilizing marketing strategies such as private label vs. brand), product performance measures and managing appropriate product governance to ensure product is maintained and updated in line with the MEA strategy.
Supports the implementation of customer segmentation and overseeing the execution in order to expand our poultry business with the right customers.
Influence (local)leadership to implement projects locally. Help showing them how the project will improve their financial results and retain customers.
30% NEW PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND SOLUTIONS DEPLOYMENT
Leading developments of products, services and solutions (NPSS) to support our poultry strategy by applying Cargill’s CFD (customer focused developments) project management process.
Support NPSS projects by developing an offering and go-to-market plan with full description of the 7Ps: People, Positioning, Product/Service, Place, Packaging, Price and Promotion.
Taking strategic initiatives and shaping our innovation pipeline with global, regional or local offerings in line with overall poultry strategy.
Monitoring business performance of NPSS and ensuring adjustment are made to achieve the objectives of the project.
20% INTELLIGENCE & INSIGHTS
Monitoring the competitive landscape, industry trends and external forces that influence the animal nutrition industry today and tomorrow in close collaboration with the market intelligence specialist to get to the right insights.
Identifying customer needs and behavior to provide the business with information on where and how to focus their efforts to realize long-term success.
Closely collaborate with the Technical Application team Poultry and Applied Nutrition team
Collaborate with (strategic) marketing colleagues in both MEA, the global poultry team and across Animal Nutrition. This requires target market insight, building relationships, influencing, establishing a proven track record in serving the business, drafting best practices, introducing new approaches, and providing the ‘voice of the customer.’
Supporting the global community of marketing practices for poultry.
Minimum Required Qualifications
5 years of strategic marketing experience (B2B) in animal nutrition industry
International work experience and willingness to travel 25% of the time
Business/Commercial savviness, customer focused mindset
International outlook/experience, full professional proficiency in English (both verbal and written), additional languages Turkish and/or Arabic are an advantage
Demonstrated experience in building strategic plans and business growth agenda’s
Understands how to develop and bring creative innovations to market
Solid interpersonal skills; being effective in listening, verbal, and written communication
Strong project management and organization skills, ability to effectively manage multiple projects that require resources, balance priorities, manage timelines, deliver results and create value
Experience in go-to-market, including leading projects, managing resources, preparing introductions, and measuring results
Experience with finances, including managing budgets and business decision metrics
Experience building relationships in multidisciplinary teams
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), intra & internet applications, and others.
Bachelor's degree in agriculture or business
Post graduate degree in business management
High expertise in animal nutrition knowledge.
