The purpose of the Corporate Development Analyst is to focus on being part of teams involved in executing mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, equity investments and divestitures at every level of the organization.
CSD is Cargill's Corporate Strategy and Development department responsible for strategy development, mergers & acquisitions, and new business development at the corporate and business unit level. CSD has a dual mission to deliver impactful recommendations regarding Cargill's toughest business challenges, and to develop future business leaders. The CSD career path leads from Analyst to Associate to Manager and beyond based on performance.

A strong general management foundation: In CSD, you will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead high-performing project teams, hone advanced financial & corporate development knowledge and general management skills, and develop a network with colleagues from operations, finance, trading, and sales.
- CSD team members are specialized in one of two practice areas: Corporate Strategy or Corporate Development. Corporate Strategy professionals focus on strategy development at the corporate level and work directly with Enterprise Strategy Leads at the Group and Business levels of the organization. Corporate Development professionals focus on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and equity investments at every level of the organization. Each individual’s assignments and experiences will be based on Cargill’s business needs, as well as personal capabilities and development goals.
50% Project execution – qualitative and quantitative data analysis including financial and valuation analysis, conducting and coordinating due-diligence, transaction structuring and documentation, project management including interaction with internal and external parties as appropriate.
30% “Gameboard” development and cultivation – detailed analysis in partnership with businesses and functions to assess market intelligence, external opportunities, industry news and developments in order to develop and cultivate targets.
20% Practice development – Assist in development of the corporate development practice including training, engagement, knowledge management and other initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, due diligence, and/or project management
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
Demonstrated problem solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous M&A/transaction experience (e.g. at an investment bank, private equity firm or corporate development team)
Bilingual and/or international experience
