Position Purpose & Summary
As part of Cargill’s digital properties team, this role will lead digital projects as an expert at leveraging web properties and digital tools to support business goals related to internal communication, employee engagement, and productivity. A primary focus of this role will be serving as the product owner of Cargill’s digital workplace (intranet) by identifying and advocating for the needs of business communicators and users during projects designed to enhance and augment the site ecosystem. The role will also collaborate with communicators and the information technology team to help to establish processes related to new site consultation, creation, content strategy, content population and maintenance, and contributor training. The role will help to create and then execute on a roadmap for Cargill’s internal digital communication tools.
25% Create a roadmap for product evolution - lead large global complex projects, managing diverse cross functional resources in support of Cargill’s digital workplace (intranet) and internal digital communication tools – serving as a product owner advocating for the needs of business communicators and users.
25% Collaborate with communicators and information technology teams to define processes and governance related to new intranet site consultation, creation, information architecture and content strategy, content population, contributor training and technical support.
15% Provide consultations to and develop resources for communicators seeking to leverage internal digital tools to achieve their communication goals; Areas of consultation may include new intranet site creation, information architecture/content strategy, other digital communications tools including mobile apps, polling features, e-newsletters, etc.
15% Create and engage an active super user community and provide hands-on training, support and collaboration community for global site contributors.
10% Manage project team members, Global IT resources and external vendors providing work on projects.
5% Provide project coordination, process definition, and execution support on a wide range of internal and external digital projects.
5% Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, English, management or a related field
5 years’ experience managing complex intranets, websites and/or digital communication properties and tools
Experience managing complex website creation, migration and/or enhancement projects – from requirements definition through design and development
Experience working with complex intranet infrastructures, particularly those leveraging Microsoft tools (SharePoint and O365)
Strong skills related to content strategy, information architecture, and business analysis (including developing business requirements)
Hands-on experience maintaining internal and/or external websites as a site administrator or contributor
Strong consulting and presentation skills
Experience leading projects as part of a global team
Hands-on experience building or maintaining SharePoint Intranet sites
Experience with a wide range of content management systems for internal and external websites
Experience with agile project management methodology
Experience working with technical teams that include local and international resources as well as outside vendors
Experience with HTML
Solid User Experience/User Interface design acumen
