Position Overview:

TheNorth American Manufacturing IT team (aka Operations and Supply Chain) withinthe Cargill Global IT job family owns end to end technology solutions,including both support and projects, at the application and infrastructurelevel, of automated systems that support business processes in the ANSI/ISA 95model level 2 and 3, which includes process control systems and manufacturingexecution systems (MES).

The Manufacturing Systems Supervisor is responsible toprovide team leadership, organization and integration to deliver a range of servicesto a variety of cross application portfolio projects, monitoring progress andresults. You will partner with other regional applications teams, Global TechnicalServices, the Project Management Office, and Business/Function partners toensure successful delivery of small to complex projects that meet businessexpectations and are executed within project timelines and budgets.

You will lead a team of employees and 3rdparty contractors and be responsible for workload planning, estimation / scheduling,planning and allocation for effective project delivery, ensuring that thesupply pipeline matches the demand for our resources across the applicationportfolio teams in North America. You willalso be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with selectedtop tier partners for the portfolio, to ensure appropriate project resourcingand maintain resource levels according to a demand-driven deliveryorganization, flexing up and down as needed to execute projects by theirrequired start date. Finally, you will own businessrelationships internally with Cargill’s Automation, Engineering, and Instrumentationteams (AEI) as well as Plant Operations divisions.

You are to driveresults of the application teams, and proactively identify risks and resolveproblems. Primary focus for theenablement portfolio is meeting our business partner needs around DataEngineering, Application Development, Application Integration, ServiceIntroduction, Small Work and Project Delivery while the primary focus for theOSC portfolio is business analysis for IT projects including applicationfunctionality. An ideal candidate would have experienceworking with plant floor systems, IT infrastructure (either analyst orleadership level), and possibly Automation work (PLC/HMI programming) alongwith staff leadership experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7 years business experience with diverse operational, development and technology roles

  • 1 year of supervisory experience of proven team leadership/coaching/mentoring

  • 2 years experience in requirements analysis or detailed solution design capabilities

  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20%


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Engineering

  • Industry certification (Examples include PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Experience with business process design

  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures

  • Experience with plant automation system support or development (i.e. Rockwell, Emerson, GE, Schneider)
