The Global Media Productions team is in search of a champion to serve as the video streaming solutions owner for on-demand and live streaming media within Cargill to help our stakeholders communicate more effectively using video/media to reach internal and external audiences.
This resource will serve as subject matter expert and be a vendor relationship contact for Cargill’s global on-demand and live streaming media solutions. The team member will interface directly with our internal and external service delivery partners and clients of these services.
This stakeholder is also responsible for subject matter expertise on projects and/or project participation in architecture, implementation and support of various other media solutions. Projects will be strategic or operational in nature, and range in size and complexity.
Video on Demand.
Identify business requirements from internal stakeholders for video and media needs to create and operate a high performing global on-demand video and media hosting/delivery environment.
Provide leadership in researching new services and benchmark against existing solutions to identify the best fit for users to seamlessly publish media for internal and external stakeholders to have positive YouTube like experiences.
Partner with IT on the implementations of these products/technologies and ensure high performing delivery of the solutions.
Lead in the responsibilities for ongoing operations of these services with our providers to include creating and maintaining a seamless user interface for our clients.
Serve as the administrator for the video-on-demand environment to include creating governance for usage and establishing policies for best practices. Work with Digital and Social Communication Team to integrate the VOD solution into the respective intra/internet and social channels that serve our internal and external audiences.
Work to create highly favorable user experiences and evaluate regularly to recommend changes that will enhance client engagement.
Provide leadership in evaluating existing live media streaming/webcasting platforms, identify new products and services that match business partner requirements and facilitate implementation/updates with technology teams as needed.
Lead in the responsibilities to provide high performance in the operations of these services with our providers.
Review current and future streaming delivery platforms to enhance the performance of these for best in class services.
Provide leadership in helping to design and implement a storage area network and Media Asset Management solution for media productions.
Partner with stakeholder teams to review existing asset management and delivery solutions, evaluate new technologies/products and make recommendations accordingly.
Participate in the implementation of the MAM solution and ensure ongoing operations of the system run smoothly.
Capture metrics to measure the performance of the services being provided and enable analytics for clients of the on-demand/live streaming products to evaluate the effectiveness of their work to help drive higher engagement.
Partner with Corporate Affairs Digital Analytics Team to align with the broader metrics and ensure performance meets/exceeds established goals.
- Participate in project related work within communication disciplines that contribute to high performance of the services.

Seasoned experience with sourcing and delivering high quality on-demand and live streaming video products and services with a focus on great end-user experiences.
Experience with cloud-based media streaming providers such as Brightcove, Vimeo, YouTube
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 environment – particularly O365 video portal and MS Stream.
Good presentation skills with ability to communicate to all levels of organization.
Experienced at reaching out to other partner teams and coordinating efforts across multiple towers of functions.
Ability to lead while dealing with ambiguity and can effectively cope with change. Can make decisions and act without having the total picture. Can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
Demonstrated capability to prioritize workload and easily shift priorities, if required
Fluent in live and on-demand media streaming protocols.
Good understanding of HTML5 based video technologies
Experience with webcasting delivery providers and respective operational workflows.
Knowledge of video and audio codecs.
Masters degree in Communications, Information Technology or related field.
Experience with large project teams in matrix organization is desirable.
Familiarity with Content Delivery Network architectures.
Knowledge of multicast and peer-to-peer network technologies for media delivery.
Knowledge of podcasting protocols and delivery solutions.
