FSQR Supervisor – This is a second shift position. This position is responsible for assuring proper design and implementation of company Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation programs. This includes but is not limited to; HACCP, SSOP, BRC, customer claims investigations and Quality programs. Responsible for managing hourly FSQR employees. Assist in the development and implementation of Food Safety and Quality related SOP’s in regard to facility processes and ensure all plant employees and visitors understand and follow all relevant policies and procedures. Data collection and trending will be a key component of this position, along with analyzing data to further improve the plant’s food safety management system.
Demonstrating leadership, initiative, and problem solvings skills may lead to other opportunities such as FSQR manager or Production Supervision. Working conditions are in refrigerated areas with wet floors and moving equipment such as forklifts. Personal protective gear (hard hat, ear plugs, hairnets/beard nets, safety toe shoes, and safety glasses) must be worn at all times.
40% Manage internal/external product and manufacturing specifications, data collection, reporting, internal and external communication, interpretation/enforcement of regulations and SOP’s, corrective actions as necessary for process deviations or customer complaints, accuracy and timeliness of hourly stakeholders performance (FSQR Techs) in accordance with Cargill policies with a focus on accountability and engagement.
20% Selection, training, performance management, labor cost management (hours), staffing levels (coverage).
20% Manage “Good Hygiene Principles”program which includes; air quality, sanitation, employee personal hygiene, pest control, chemical/packaging supplier program, transportation requirements, labeling program, Cold chain management and rework/traceability of raw materials and finished products.
20% Supervise compliance of work area to regulatory standards. Maintain thorough knowledge of guidelines and procedures, record keeping, write/monitor plan-specific programs, and maintain relationship with USDA inspectors.
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Biological Sciences or related field preferred or 4 yeas of experience in food industry in lieu of the degree
3 years experience in food industry.
Ability to work holidays, weekends and overtime if needed by the businessThis is a second shift position. (2 pm – 3 am range)
1 years of experience in a management role with direct reports.
Working knowledge of quality and/or food safety processes, including HACCP and GFSI food safety standards.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel.
Ability to analyze and report data.
