The LogisticsManager position will enable the changesacross Cargill Protein business unit structures. The LM reports to the BTL that is a nested positionresponsible for the transportation & logistics performance of the business(or set of businesses). Most, ifnot all, T&L processes and activity will be performed by the CTL sharedservice on behalf of the business.
The purpose of this roleis to partner with business/product line leaders, serve as the CTL functionpoint of contact, align/implement the transportation and logistics strategywithin the business and drive T&L value across the supply chain forassigned scope of business. Thisposition will report directly to the BTL for Protein and work closely with theNA Operations leadership team located in Wichita, KS. The position will also have close interactionwith the members of the Protein BOSC leadership team as needed.
The LM is responsible for the full scope ofthe business’s transportation & logistics activities, performance metrics, andbudget for assigned business scope within the Protein BU. The position will also lead T&L valuecreation opportunities across the assigned business.
Includes work in the areas of strategy &execution leadership, business budget & resource management, sourcingcompliance, activity monitoring & measurement, supply chain interface,customer relationship and talent management inputs.
This position will work in partnershipacross the integrated supply chain of the business coordinating with SupplyChain Planning, Customer Service, Order Management, CSSP, and Operations tohelp to measure and optimize performance across the integrated supply chainfrom supplier to customer.

40% Strategy and Planning
Leads development and implementation of transportation& logistics long term vision and strategic direction for a assigned Business(Value Added, Cooked, Growth Ventures, etc) , including long-range objectives,policies and strategy.
Responsible for ensuring Function policies and bestpractices are incorporated into strategies.
Provides T&L input into S&OP, Supply ChainPlanning, and Strategic Pricing processes.
Provides management oversight and support to successfullyexecute short and long-term transportation & logistics strategies.
Ensures the business’ full participation in CTL sharedservice (CBS) strategy.
Actively participates in and presents at plannedmeetings, including BOSC, CTL and other leadership meetings for assigned Business.
Using an advanced knowledge of transportation &logistics practices and procedures, understands markets for a assigned Business,to identify opportunities for Cargill business.
Supports and provides input to the development & updatesto the projects, initiatives and and multi-year plan of Supply Chain as ajob-family, linked to the Enterprise/Group vision, mission and strategy as wellas Global Supply Chain standards
30% Performance Management
Own Business’T&L budget and deliverables within the assigned business scope
Accountable forachieving transportation & logistics targets and goals for a assignedbusiness within the greater integrated Supply Chain
Works with supplychain colleagues to identify, generate and track metrics across the business tomeasure transportation & logistics performance and value realizationagainst defined short and long-term objectives (eg. G and A cost reduction,process improvements and system utilization).
Recommendsenterprise and business group T&L continuous process improvements withinthe supply chain.
Ensures governanceof all transportation & logistics activities within a large business supplychain complying with Corporate/CTL/regulatory policies/controls/PDTOptimizationof the manufacturing footprint, warehouses, and inventory as well coordinatingwith CSSP and CTL for transportation lines from supplier to customer to deliverbest in class service and cost
Leading or sponsoringspecific projects, initiatives and actions as identified in the Business,Product Line, or functional plans. These can be cross-functional, cross-productline and cross-regional.
Measuring &managing results for continuous progress (up), corrective action- and decisiontaking in all aspects of the business but concentrating on T&L.
25% Relationship Management& Alignment
Leverage and align business transportation strategies with CTL strategicpriorities, including mode, regional, CTL operations, business/strategydevelopment and talent/HR.
Link Business to CTL and shared services execution and improvement opportunities
Aligns resources to execute against short term and long-term strategiesand meeting transportation & logistics organization and businessobjectives.
Stakeholder relationships within the Business, partners with seniorleadership to manage more significant and/or more complex transportation &logistics matters for a large business which may have significant financial orcompetitive risk and/or risk to Cargill strategy, brand, or global reputation.
Partners and collaborates with:
Other CTL team members within andacross regional organizations to ensure reliable service delivery acrossinternal clients and external customers.
Group Supply chain leaders – building on what alreadyexist as collaboration between the SC Leaders, initiating new initiatives (ifdesired/required) to create more harmonized approach in e.g. recruitment oftrainees, talent development, project management and execution etc.
With CSSP: Cargill StrategicSourcing and Procurement – establishing a sustainable structure for workingtogether in this setting, sharing knowledge and experience and harvesting onthe scale of what Cargill has to offer and can gain from it.
Plant Operations Leaders as appropriate
Jointly own the service level agreement and review between CTL and assignedbusiness and rest of integrated supply chain
Identify, onboard, develop T&L and overall BOSC talent (i.e.partners with other members of the regional transportation & logisticsleadership team to develop, manage and engage talent as well as other BOSC subfunctions)

Minimum 8 years experience in Supply Chain related job (e.g.Planning, Operations, Logistics, Procurement/Sourcing)
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics,Business, or related field
Experience with working in a complex multi-modal environment
Experience with working in a matrix organization set-up
Leadership experience (managing through others, influencing, developing)– 3-5 years proven track record
Experience and proven track record in project and change management(broad scope and cross-functional)
Experience and knowledge of Transportation & Logistics lawsand regulations
Strong team builder and team player (Player/Coach principle)
Strong communication, influencing and motivation skills
Adept at operating in the intersections of facility operations,information technology, and external marketplace realities
Knowledge/experience of Lean/Six Sigma is a plus
Advanced University Degree preferably in Supply Chain,Engineering, Business, or related field
Experience leveraging the functionality of a TransportationManagement System (TMS)
Experience with working in a large matrix organization
